Experiment
To make our poster we used the software 'Photoshop', this allowed us to crop and edit didfferent images onto our original one, photoshop was particularly helpful for us as we wanted to include a zombie, this means that we have to crop the zombie head into the original image we took. As our main and favorutie idea for the poster was to include all three main actors we also used the software 'Picmonkey' where we could change the colours, sharpness and brightness of the image making it as iconic to the poster as the background. The following screen shots show our different experiments within using picmonkey and photoshop.
Firstly we took a shot from early footage we had gathered and experimented through various effects to see which sort of style best suited our trailer.
The first photoshop test that we did was to increase the exposre of the colours and contrast. We were testing to see whether doing this would make the colours of the blood and dirt etc stand out and create more of a gory visual effect to our trailer. After doing so, we saw that the blood and dirt did indeed stand out more and it looked effective. However the colour of the sky, vegatation, skin and clothes were also amplified. We did not particularly agree with this look however, because it added a more of cartoon-ish style to our trailer. We didn't feel that this was approprite for our style of trailer because the colours emitted a quite lively and fun atnospere. This is not the atnosphere that we were looking for in a movie that depicts a post-apocolyptic, death-filled wasteland.
For the second photo experiment we increased the sharpness of the image considerabley. We thought that perhaps this would be a more effective way of increasing the look of the blood, dirt and cuts without also bringing out the colours in the wildlife and vegetation with it. The sharpness was effective because the depth of the cuts were brought out well in the zombies face. The grains of dirt and mud were also brought out on the skin of the actors and their clothes. The sharpness also exadguarated any already existing blemishes in our surroundings, such as cracks in pathments and walls, which added to the barren wasteland effect in our work.

For our final experiment, we decreased the amount of exposure in the colour and contrast in the footage. This is because we wanted to futher the impression of a lifeless, barren, wasteland. The lack of colour is representative with the lack of life and beauty in this post apocolyptic world. (SR)
